Post-Doctoral Fellows Funding



As part of its strategic initiatives for the College of Law and Management has allocated some funding support PDF who wish to present their publishable papers at the 2016 BMC Conference. All applications are dependent on available funding.

Grants to attend conferences to present papers will be awarded on the basis of the following criteria / conditions:

  1. The applicant’s proposed paper must have been accepted by the conference organisers.
  2. The paper must be in a publishable form and attached to the application.
  3. The applicant must submit the paper to a DoHET accredited journal for publication within three (3) months of attending the conference. (The journal may NOT be listed on one of the so-called Beall’s Lists.) It is the responsibility of academics to follow up with the journals and to do everything possible to have the paper published.
  4. The applicant must be a PDF, unable to access research funds from other sources.

 The following must be attached to the application form:

  1. A copy of acceptance of the paper by the conference organisers.
  2. A copy of the publishable paper.
  3. A letter of motivation.
  4. Proof of appointment.

NB The following restrictions apply to the grant:

  1. Only conference registration fees are covered. Transport and accommodation are for the account of the applicant as the conference is in Durban.
